Greater Cambridge Local Plan Preferred Options

Rest of the rural area

Representation ID: 60490

Received: 13/12/2021

Respondent: Melbourn Parish Council

Representation Summary:

In the first instance as a village Melbourn is at capacity in a number of areas.
a)..Health care, specifically doctors surgeries health
care workers.
b)..Schools, it is ridiculous that children/teenagers
are being shipped all over the place due to lack of spaces. This is an eco-issue in its own right. The
number of parents driving children, the coaches etc.
We do not have any more capacity locally.

S/RRA: Allocations in the rest of the rural area

Representation ID: 60492

Received: 13/12/2021

Respondent: Melbourn Parish Council

Representation Summary:

S/RRA/ML The Moor:
The additional development down the Moor. There
is a clear parking issue here, adding another 30/40
cars will only increase the already existing issues. At weekends emergency services could be seriously obstructed. (this issue has been raised by residents to me).

Regarding the extra development, local residents have raised concern regarding wildlife, we need to get a survey done as there are a number of endangered species that will be affected.

20 more houses on The Moor will destroy the last
paddock in the village. This green open space
provides a habitat for a wide range of wildlife, some
of which are on the endangered list. A huge price to
pay for the sake of 20 new homes! The Moor is also
home to the Village College, Care Home, a Pre school and Taxi business making traffic movements on to and from the High Street difficult throughout the day. Construction vehicles and 20 plus more resident vehicles will exacerbate this to breaking point. Residents have also endured a recent building development and enforcement was required due to constant parking issues.

Infrastructure

Representation ID: 60494

Received: 13/12/2021

Respondent: Melbourn Parish Council

Representation Summary:

We desperately need a set of traffic lights at the A505 New road exit. Nothing has been done here, it is dangerous. We will require serious commitment to address these types of issues with increased development, it feels inevitable that accidents will happen.
