We could perhaps learn lessons from Silicon Valley in California. There, large employers lay on free shuttle buses for their employees from surrounding areas, complete with wifi. (In fact, I think ARM even does so in south Cambridge).
At the moment, for people coming to the Science Park from outside Cambridge, public transport is slower, more expensive and less convenient than getting in their car. If dedicated employment buses were to run from say Ely, Cambourne, Bar Hill etc., that could substantially reduce the need for people to use their own cars.
