The cycle route along Coldhams Lane is included in the maps below as an 'existing cycle route' with 'Potential to explore provision of link to Chisholm trail', suggesting there are no immediate plans to improve cycle provision. Cycling along Coldhams Lane between Church End and Sainsburys is already dangerous, with many cars overtaking cyclists too fast and too close. I am concerned that the development will increase the numbers of cars and cyclists using the road, increasing this problem. In addition, one of the main access points to the site is proposed on Coldhams Lane, resulting in construction traffic that may be less accustomed to cyclists than Cambridge residents. This problem could be solved by provision of a route specifically for cyclists alongside the main road.
