6.4 DEVELOPMENT QUANTUM
The Wildlife Trust supports the inclusion of 89 Ha for the country park and strategic green infrastructure set out within the projected land budget in Figure 57. This represents approximately 36% of the SPD area, and with other more formal open spaces, the total green infrastructure would approach 50%. This quantum of provision provides significant scope to achieve a biodiversity net gain through the creation of high quality habitats as well as multi-functional and formal open spaces. Any significant reduction is likely to lead to measurable net losses in biodiversity or require off-site biodiversity offsetting.
