Neither agree nor disagree

Unfortunately we already unsustainable in water. Last autumn many trees died due to lack of water. We are over abstracting so ground water levels fell out of reach for many trees. Silver birches and cherries have short roots so suffer first. Some trees like Rowan and Maple like colder and wetter climate.

Stop planning new development. Question the underlying assumption that we must have eternal growth. Bring in rules to limit Airbnb and holiday lets. That will free up space. Take over empty homes. Buy big houses and split them into smaller units. NO MORE GROWTH.

No new developments! Create one way systems for cars and give the space created to cycle lanes. Eg. Newmarket Rd would only have cars on the north bound lane while whole southbound lane would be converted to two way cycle path. The southbound car lane would be on Coldhams Lane or Mill Road.

Just forget new development. We haven't got water for it. DO NOT ASSUME GROWTH! This is not a valid consultation in you assume infinite growth on a finite planet!

This is no time for being delicate and overly reverential. We need to do what is scientifically necessary. Plant trees and wildflowers on those college lawns! Fit functional triple glazing into those historic buildings! Grow creepers up the walls! Fit bird boxes under the rafters! Do all this and we may survive. Alternatively be precious over history and tradition and die.
