Build ‘Lifetime Homes’. Have informal, casual social interaction places, i.e. town squares, seating areas, external performance/exercise spaces. markets, etc. Variety of green spaces, play and leisure areas and ‘blue collar’ employment opportunities. Community Development Officers to organise initial community activities and events. Ensure the built and landscaped environment is accessible to all. Promote and incentivise healthy lifestyles.

It is a vital tool in preserving the unique character of Greater Cambridge. It should ensure that an areas appearance and vistas are maintained. Don’t just pay lip service to the concept of ‘well designed’ new buildings. Too many bland and uninspiring buildings are accepted; have higher understood standards/

Afford them ‘protected status’, only allow encroachment in exceptional circumstances. Cambridge’s heritage is what makes it Cambridge, once over built it loses its identity.
