intensify planting and biodiversity within the S/PRIA/Eastern Gate. This includes areas above and adjacent to the
Elizabeth way bridge, landscaped areas within the East Road underpass, and improvements along the Newmarket
Road, including new hedges and trees planted to separate pedestrians and cyclists and other active transport
users, from cars.

pedestrian and other active transport modes with the current roundabout and bridge infrastructures, which are
impossible to navigate safely or other. Better connectivity and prioritising pedestrians and cyclists encourages
cross-ward movement and improves safety for vulnerable users including children, children in or on bikes, elderly
and disabled users

As-found public spaces and Arts with reference to S/PRIA/EG and the Elizabeth Way bridge and Underpass(es) cultural hub community project, the East Road underpass provides a benchmark opportunity for integrating public art and engagement events. It presents a microclimate with existing biodiverse planting and has potential to be more green and provide opportunities for temporary art installations, engaging with local students, graduates, young adults and creatives.
