Greater Cambridge Local Plan Preferred Options

Representation ID: 58074

Received: 12/12/2021

Respondent: Horningsea Parish Council

Representation Summary:

Horningsea Parish Council does not believe that the proposal to relocate the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant - a fully functioning wastewater treatment plant - to Green Belt is a good use of £227 million of taxpayers’ money. The infrastructure to treat the sewage is already in place and has capacity until 2050. The proposed relocation (that is a mere 1.5km away) will build a new site that has capacity until 2050. This is a waste of money.
