North East Cambridge Area Action Plan Issues and Options 2019

Representation ID: 33240

Received: 05/04/2019

Respondent: Mr Roger Mann

Representation Summary:

I am very surprised that, despite references to the importance of education, the Issues and Options document contains no consideration of the requirement for schools in the AAP area. In particular, there will be an essential need for a new secondary school to ensure that objectives of 'walkability' and 'place making' are met for 11-16 year olds. A successful and innovative community-focused secondary school will play a vital role in delivering economic growth and prosperity for the area, and should be a key provider of community resources and facilities that will contribute to the culture, creativity and interest of the community. It is essential that proposals for the delivery of secondary education in the area, and consideration of using the school as a hub for community activities, are included in the next iteration of the AAP.
