North East Cambridge Area Action Plan Issues and Options 2019

Representation ID: 33165

Received: 22/03/2019

Respondent: Ms Clare Hughes

Representation Summary:

While I understand the need for more housing in Cambridge, I feel that much of this proposed development should be for affordable housing. While there is an increasing need for housing for people moving to Cambridge to work in the high-tech industries, there is more need for key workers. Lower paid workers are being eased out of Cambridge and they are the ones who can least afford to commute into the city. Key workers (teachers, nurses, carers, cleaners, gardeners, council workers and so forth) are absolutely essential to support all those living and working in Cambridge.

I hope you can take this on board in the development of the plan.
