Towers create an aggressive, alien environment which is not welcome.
Buildings with a maximum height of six storeys are advocated in the classic work of Christopher Alexander. My preference is for a maximum straight facade of 4 storeys with any higher set back to avoid urban canyons. Rooftops of deep plan buildings should be roof gardens to help cool the buildings without air conditioning.
