A new road bridge should be built, for motor transport, bikes and pedestrians. This removes the current difficulty of the railway crossing being closed for up to 20 minutes at a time giving no access in or out for people of the Chesterton Fen area. This cannot continue...what if a resident beyond the level crossing had a fire or needed an emergency ambulance? Creating a road bridge over the railway line gives alternative access, and will also relieve Fen Road of much heavy traffic for which it was not designed and which causes many hazards to pedestrians and cyclists.
