The SPD does not provide sufficient guidance to encourage non motor vehicle transport use. The Waterbeach Cycling Campaign has proposed an alternative plan for a ring road and prioritised cross site routes for cyclists and pedestrians. Roads within the new town should be clearly programmed to ensure construction traffic and users traffic for the new station do not access the station through the existing village.

More green space should be provided at the southern end of the new town to ensure the existing village continues to benefit from a fen edge landscape.
