It would be fantastic to have new shops and services at the northern edge of the Science Park as CRC and King's Hedges have so few options. This would be a huge step towards improving existing communities whilst also developing new ones.

It is good to have these centres where they are based on the make up of the area between business and residential. I think that it is rather reductive, however, to designate only one area for anything other than just local shops - it would be good to have an arts centre somewhere else as well, or a restaurant, or something. Each centre does not need all of the elements at the District Centre, but they should have more interest than just basic shops. Perhaps there could be a bar in the Station Approach, a restaurant in the Science Park, and an arts centre on Cowley Road.

I think it looks incredible. I would love to see a gym facility near the station too if possible and a drop in wifi cafe which will be perfect when trains are delayed (Greater Anglia!). Some of us live on trains and it would help mental and physical health to have a gym to visit before or after a journey.

Only good if providing these centres have no impact on the surrounding countryside, i.e. Anglian water treatment plant either stays where it is or moves to another suitable brown field site.

An impossible foresight for the beneficiaries. Much more thought needed about the nature of shopping & provisioning now highlighted by the pandemic. There will be no return to convention. Best to plan provisionally & flexibly leaving open spaces for the residents themselves to determine the nature of "the right mix of activity"

Where do companies go? Either it's mostly companies or it's community areas. Having both one on top of the other does not sound like a good idea

Possibly too many centres? Especially in transition key to get density of use up, may be spreading to thinly as shown.

Mostly just sounds like a few shops - would like to know more about the sort and quantity of shops planned? A two shop front place is largely unhelpful. Also, need to know the type of people envisaged living here to know what sort of things are needed

These will become soulless and empty at night. Wind tunnels between the high buildings. Centres for drug dealing and drunks. Good you are providing links into the surrounding areas as they will be able to get out to rob to fund their habits.

The District Centre looks great but will only be useful to those in East Chesterton if it is easily accessible from the area. Currently the Mortlock Estate is closed in by a wall along Nuffield Road, and an industrial estate between us and the busway. If these barriers can be overcome then the Centre will be really exciting for us. If not it is likely to be a long way round to get to.

Particularly since Covid19 and with the likelihood of future pandemics people are wanting more space around them and not packed in against work places. The mix of activities is probably right and would go well in say the Waterbeach new development - that is in an area with more space around it. The plan is very over developed - too many and too high buildings.

The hard working people of Cambridge especially in that area do not all work at the science park or St John's or commute. I'm envisaging more a "Big Bang cafe" .. A tribute to Stephen Hawking.. Of some sort maybe speak to Pure Maths on that one.. Some themed areas eco designed quarter. Benches that look like folded books, sculptures made out of recycled objects to fit with the Green Theme.. Venue's for music as Cambridge is lacking.. Encouraging local bands to play from the 6th form colleges.. Green areas.. An out door amphitheatre.. Not just science
