Greater Cambridge Local Plan: Proposed Submission

Allocate the 1.514 ha site off Grantchester rd, Grantchester for Sports and Leisure use inc Padel Courts to meet the deficit of such facilities to serve general public use over the plan period in the locality of Grantchester/Newnham. See attached plan.

Objection to Policy WS/CF relating to community, sports and leisure facilities. The policy does not acknowledge the deficit of sports and leisure facilities on the south side of Cambridge/edge of Cambridge, in particular relating to Padel Court provision for general public use. Paragraph 6.50 confirms support will be given to proposals which can demonstrate local need yet the plan itself does not allocate sufficient land locally for this purpose. The plan is not positively prepared as required by para 36 of NPPF 2024.
