In the case of JCC, HMOs are registered with Accreditation Network UK (ANUK) which produces a code that is followed for the management of student accommodation and covers everything from health and safety within the building to the student experience and their mental health. Auditing occurs every three years to ensure compliance. Alongside that, JCC’s Porters Lodge is manned 24/7 365 days a year so should there be any issues within HMOs or reported by external people then these would be dealt with promptly. JCC has an in-house Estates team who deal with repairs to the buildings to ensure that they are looked after and visually do not take away from the streetscape of the city.
