Greater Cambridge Local Plan: Proposed Submission

Delete the 7 circles and associated coloured washes from Figure 5.

Objection to Figure 5 which shows the development strategy. The 7 coloured circles in the key are not explained. What is their policy status? They have not been justified. Where is the evidence? What policy purpose do they serve?Local plans need to be clear to the reader.

allocate land off Grantchester rd(1.514 ha) Grantchester to meet the local need for Padel Courts on south west side of Cambridge(see plan attached). Site falls within the edge of Cambridge policy area.

Objection to Policy WS/CF relating to community, sports and leisure facilities. The policy does not acknowledge the deficit of sports and leisure facilities on the south side of Cambridge/edge of Cambridge, in particular relating to Padel Court provision for general public use. Paragraph 6.50 confirms support will be given to proposals which can demonstrate local need yet the plan itself does not allocate sufficient land locally for this purpose. The plan is not positively prepared as required by para 36 of NPPF 2024.
