Greater Cambridge is growing, and Cambridge is expanding and densifying. There is consequently intense development pressure to develop open spaces. This puts strains on residents. We need to cherish, protect, and enhance our open spaces. We need to resist the erosion of the city's key green areas due to development.
This policy of protected open spaces is therefore vitally important. I believe it should be strengthened by removing clauses 2 and 3, which require replacement open space to be provided in an alternative location or where it meets demonstrable educational need.
