I have considered the Local Plan through the lens of food.
Food significantly impacts some key themes within the Local Plan. In particular Climate Change, as the food system is one of the biggest drivers of Climate Change, and Wellbeing, as diet is a fundamental cornerstone of healthy lifestyles.
Cambridge cannot achieve its net zero ambition without a strategy to transition to a more sustainable food system. Resilience in the food supply chain also needs serious consideration.
For these reasons I feel the Local Plan should do more to encourage and support a healthy and sustainable local food system.
