North East Cambridge Area Action Plan Issues and Options 2019

Representation ID: 32793

Received: 24/03/2019

Respondent: Matthew Danish

Representation Summary:

The problem with a bridge over Milton Road is that it would involve steep grades for people walking and cycling, which means people would avoid using it. Instead, walking and cycling journeys should enjoy the benefit of the relatively level connection while motorised journeys go under or over (using an open, airy and light-filled 'underbridge' structure).

However, in all cases, we must remember that we are supposed to be reducing the amount of car traffic entering the city overall. Therefore, overbuilding Milton Road for high levels of car traffic is wrong. Milton Road should be smaller than it is today.
